Shelley Jackson

Title role (Anna Bolena)

American soprano Shelley Jackson’s engagements this season include her debuts as Manon and Donna Anna Don Giovanni at the Salzburg Landestheater, she sings Anna Bolena in a revival of their production at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, and makes her debut at the Buxton International Festival.

Recent roles include Micaëla Carmen at the Teatro Massimo Palermo, Mimì La bohème at the Haus für Mozart in Salzburg and at Dorset Opera, a return to the Grange Festival as Mary Crawford Mansfield Park where she previously sang Micaëla, and a concert of verismo arias and duets with the Hamilton Philharmonic in Canada.

A recent graduate of the studio of Opernhaus Zürich, her roles there included Micaëla, Musetta La bohème, and Song Lian in the world premiere of Rote Laterne. With the Santa Fe Opera, she sang Norina Don Pasquale and the Italian Singer Capriccio. Prize winner of numerous competitions, including the Maria Callas Grand Prix and Veronica Dunne Competition, Shelley holds degrees from the Peabody Conservatory, Temple University, and the Academy of Vocal Arts. In addition, she spent two years of study with Mirella Freni in Modena, Italy.
