Laurence Guillod

Debut at the Opéra de Lausanne.

The Italian-Swiss singer Laurence Guillod, sponsored by the Fondation Colette Mosetti, achieved a master as a soloist in 2010 at the Conservatoire de Lausanne along with the Max Jost Prize for brilliant studies. While taking master classes with Brigitte Hool and Noëmi Nadelmann, she joined the Basel Opera Studio for the 2010-2011 season, where she sang in a variety of roles and numerous recitals. She just received in April 2011 a scholarship from Pour-cent culturel Migros.

She is regularly employed as a soloist in oratorios and recitals in Switzerland and abroad (Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St Matthew and St John Passions, Gounod’s Grande Messe de Sainte Cécile, Rossini’s Petite Messe solennelle, etc.). She has sung recitals alongside the tenors Ramón Vargas and Ismael Jordi.

Laurence Guillod first appeared on stage in the role of Elisabetta in Il matrimonio segreto by Cimarosa in 2005. She then sang Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, the leading parts of Il segreto di Susanna by Wolf-Ferrari and La serva padrona by Pergolèse, Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen, Hermiona in Un tango pour Monsieur Lautrec by Zulueta, Despina in Così fan tutte, the leading part in Le paradis et la Péri by Schumann, Siébel in Faust by Gounod, Donna Elvira and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. She has sung with conductors such as Jesús López-Cobos, Nicolas Chalvin, Hervé Klopfenstein and Facundo Agudin.

Upcoming performances : Barbarina in Nozze di Figaro and Blumenmädchen in Parsifal at the Stadttheater Basel, Il paggio in Rigoletto at the Festival d’Avenches, Madame Bovary, Morceaux de nuit by François Cattin at the Jardins Musicaux and La Chaux-de-Fonds, Thibault in Don Carlos in Neuchâtel.
