Guido Petzold
Lighting of Alcina
Debut at the Opéra de Lausanne.
Guido Petzold began his career as a lighting technician at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf in 1993. He was assistant to Manfred Voss for many years on many ballets, operas and theatre productions. He works with directors such as Robert Carsen, Günter Krämer, Helmut Lohner, Jürgen Rose, Jochen Ulrich, Giancarlo del Monaco, Kurt Horres, Michael Rehberg, David Alden and Johannes Schaaf.
He has worked at the Nissai and Bunka Kaikan theatres in Toyko, the Opéra de Cologne, Geneva’s Grand Théâtre, La Fenice in Venice, the Kaundu Arts Festival in Taiwan, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Theater an der Wien, the Volksoper Wien, the Athens National Opera, the Teatro Comunale in Florence and the Semperoper in Dresden. Since the 2006-2007 season, he has been in charge of lighting at the St Gallen Theatre and also works as an independent lighting designer.
