Gary McCann

Set designer of Anna Bolena

Primarily based in London and Berlin, Gary McCan has designed sets and costumes for theatre and opera around the world. It was in theatres like the Wiener Staatsoper, the Nederlandse Reisopera, the Market Theatre in Johannesburg, the Ekaterinburg State Opera, the Friedman Theatre on Broadway, the Duchess Theatre in the West End, the operas of Oslo, Stockholm, Philadelphia, Santa Fe, Dallas and Bucharest, that he designed his creations. These include Macbeth, Carmen, Die Fledermaus, La Traviata, Der Fliegende Holländer, Madama Butterfly, Il barbiere di Siviglia, La voix humaine, L’heure espagnole, Ariadne auf Naxos, Faramondo, The Girl in the Yellow Dress, Les Illuminations, Fidelio, The Shawshank Redemption, La cage aux folles and The Sound of Music. His work was displayed in three exhibits at the V&A Museum in London, including the exhibit Make:Believe.
