There is nothing left to say about this big show operetta, the best of its genre. When it was created, the public and critics alike unanimously applauded this unforgettable performance in twenty magnificent acts. Despite the lightness of the plot, it is one of Francis Lopez' best works of music, the genre requiring only that there be a steady flow of the most beautiful, intoxicating and catchy airs. In 1956, five years after it was created, the operetta became a film starring Annie Cordy and Bourvil, alongside Luis Mariano.

Audiodescription with Ecoute Voir

A cultural mediation project has been set up with Ecoute Voir, an association whose mission is to promote the access of live performances to people with sensory disabilities. At the Opéra de Lausanne, a project with people with visual disabilities was imagined: during the rehearsal of the show, about fifteen blind or visually impaired people will be able to discover Le chanteur de Mexico. After a tactile visit of the set, they will join the room to attend the show. Equipped with headset, the simultaneous audiodescription will allow them to follow live scenic actions. More information
