Ara Malikian has created a unique style, inspired by Middle-Eastern, Mid-European, Argentine and Spanish folk tunes, as well as the long-standing European classical tradition. After a two-year tour with the show Ara 15, The Tour, he returns with this new production, directly inspired by the “Violin”…
Ara Malikian began learning the violin with his father, then, at the age of 12, thanks to the support of conductor Hans Herbert-Joris, he received a scholarship from the German government to study at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Hanover. He pursued his training at the Guildhall School in London under such great violinists as Franco Gulli and Hermann Krebers.
He performed throughout the world with ensembles like the symphonic orchestras of Tokyo and Madrid, the Orchestre de Chambre of Toulouse and the Moscow Virtuosi, before creating his own orchestra, La Orquesta en el Tejado. His partnership with the Non Profit Music Foundation and composer Jorge Grundman led to the creation of the Non Profit Chamber Music Orchestra, whose goal is to promote works by contemporary composers. He has been involved in creating concerts to help young people discover different styles of music, such as My First Four Seasons and has been a regular guest of the TV show El Club del Pizzicato. Ara Malikian has won several awards, including a Music Award in the category New Music Best Album.
