(now Génération Opéra) and the Fondation France-Télécom (now Fondation Orange), the Voix Nouvelles competition has helped launch the careers of many opera singers who have gone on to achieve international recognition. The laureates notably include Natalie Dessay, Stéphane Degout, Karine Deshayes, Eva Zaïcik and more recently Lauranne Oliva – whom we heard in Mitridate in February 2025 – all of whom have been acclaimed on French opera stages.
In 2027, the Voix Nouvelles competition returns for its sixth edition, with preliminary rounds taking place at most French-speaking opera houses. Each artist is invited to perform near their home in front of a jury composed of opera professionals.
