FAUST

Thanks to a pact signed with Mephistopheles,

Faust regains his youth and wins over Marguerite, who he later abandons. Imprisoned for killing the child born of this brief encounter, Marguerite turns down Faust and Mephisto’s offer of escape and surrenders her spirit to Heaven before dying.
