Behold Richard, Duke of Gloucester, as deformed as he is greedy and devious.

Behold the winter of man and of power. Richard embodies evil, the ugliness of his body intermingled with the blackness of his soul. They said he was eccentric and incapable, yet he takes center-stage. They said he was cunning and dreadful, yet he becomes attractive. His skilful tongue and Machiavellian mind help him woo his staunchest enemies, including Princess Anne whose husband and father he murders and who he marries. This extraordinary manipulator infiltrates the inner workings of the powerful, making them tumble one by one for his own profit and becoming their venomous, perverse and fascinating genius.
