by welcoming the great French coloratura soprano Sabine Devieilhe for the first time. She will be accompanied on piano by the talented Mathieu Pordoy, for an intimate programme of songs and lieder.
The purity and agility of her singing, her impeccable diction and her theatrical talent make her an engaging performer, at her most accurate in embodying her characters; she was crowned opera artist of the year at the Victoires de la musique classique awards in 2015 and 2018.
The greatest opera houses invite her to perform in an extremely varied repertoire. Recent highlights include Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare in Egitto) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Ilia (Idomenus) at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Sister Constance (Dialogues of the Carmelites) at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) at the Salzburg Festival. In July 2024, she will be Debussy’s Mélisande at the Munich Opera.
