Dress code

Tuxedos and long dresses are no longer necessarily required. A standard business casual attire in which you are comfortable is perfectly suitable.

When

Arrive at least 30 minutes before the curtain rises so that you can pick up your tickets, check-in your coats and get settled in comfortably. Our Laurent Perrier bar is open before the start of the show as well as during the intermission where you may purchase drinks and snacks.

Photography & Video

No video, no photos, even without a flash. 

Out of respect for the artists and the public it is forbidden to take photographs or video. Enjoy the show, and become live in the moment with your phone tucked away.

COAT CHECK
Coat check is offered and available at the main entrance.

SUBTITLES
Subtitles are shown for each show in English and French.

BOOSTER SEATS
Booster seats are available at the entrance of the doors in the main auditorium.

Bar & Restaurants

Our Salon Alice Bailly is located at the second balcony and welcomes you one hour before the show and during intermission. To accompany your glass of champagne, you can enjoy a few savoury or sweet snacks.

During intermissions, drinks and small snacks are also available at our Laurent Perrier Bar, located at the mezzanine floor.

At the end of the show, our Laurent Pierrier Bar welcomes you for a last drink.

Our partner Lausanne Palace (Brasserie du Grand-Chêne) offers you a 10% discount on the evening of the show, upon presentation of your ticket.

Arrival & Delays

Doors of the Opéra and bar are open 1 hour before the show.
Doors to the auditorium open 30 minutes before the show.
The ticket office is open one hour before for sales only for the show that evening.

Late arrivals are only allowed to enter the auditorium at the end of an act or during a break, with the permission of our placers. In the meantime, you can watch the show live streamed in the Alice Bailly Salon.

Age Requirements

The Opéra de Lausanne is happy to welcome young spectators from the age of 6 for all its performances. The age limit for children’s reduced tickets is 16 years old. An ID may be required and access to performances refused in the event of non-compliance, without refund.

Reduced Mobility

In order to accommodate the largest possible number of people, the Opéra de Lausanne offers an access ramp in front of its main entrance (as an extension of the sidewalk on the Théâtre Restaurant side), with an elevating platform to reach the reserved seats on the floor, as well as the private toilets.

The Opéra’s staff is pleased to accompany you to your seat.

Parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility are located on Avenue du Théâtre and Rue Beau-Séjour. If the aforementioned are used, access to the Opéra is via the Artists’ Entrance (Beau-Séjour 23).
